Using Brian Mendler's strategies from a professional development I attended in Columbus, Ohio, I want to give some classroom tips and tricks that I have used over my last seven years of teaching. I want to present on the three different populations of students I have worked with: at-risk, high-achieving, and average students I have worked with in my career. I want to highlight strategies that have worked, failed, and give teachers time to submit common issues they are experiencing in their classroom and brainstorm ideas that can help change the course of their classroom dynamics. My session would focus on the following:

-Ethics vs. Rules
-Private vs. Public
-Common classroom issues.
-Addressing students use the right to engage or option to fail policy.
-Communication with students and parents on expecations.
-The cell phone policy.
-Resources for struggling teachers.
