Be Wise…and Subitize!!!
What Does Subitizing Have to Do with Development of Students’ Understanding of Number Sense? Subitizing is an under-realized, critical skill needed for number sense such as conservation, unitizing, composing/decomposing, place value, fact strategies, and arithmetic. In this session, Toni will discuss subitizing types, when and how they can be taught, implications on TK-8 mathematics learning and provide tasks for small or whole group instruction.
