Who's Asking the Questions in Math Class? Using Curiosity as a Catalyst for Changing Curricula and Classrooms
Even though we want students to be curious in math, see its beauty, and wonder how it applies to their world, most students believe math class is a place where they're just given answers to questions they've never asked. Math leaders and teachers can change this belief by cultivating curiosity in math courses and classrooms. Learn strategies for inspiring students to ask their own questions, self-assess their curiosity, and value questions as much as answers.

Culturally Responsive Leadership: Strategies, protocols, and actions for building a culture of leadership and empowerment
One of the most significant indicators of a learner's success that cannot be measured numerically is the culture of the environments they are learning in. The goal should be to ensure that every learner is seen, heard, and affirmed in who they are. This session will support educators across the wide spectrum of roles, including school and district leadership, in developing sustainable mechanisms for examining habits of mind and cultural norms while examining areas of need for growth as well. We will also take a deep analytical look at how our use of technology must go beyond simplistic uses and evolve to serve as a catalyst for learner empowerment in making and building meaningful cross-cultural connections.

Transformational Teaching and Learning With Technology
In our quest to provide students with rich learning environments, we often strive to find creative ways to engage our students further. In some cases, this may involve the use of technology to a variety of degrees. Since technology has a ubiquitous influence on the everyday lives of our students, one of our biggest challenges is identifying ways to leverage it for increased student learning. This session will focus both on the design of learning experiences as well as how to shift our use of technology to support a higher-order thinking approach to learning.
